Baptism at CPF
Baptism at CPF
Baptism is the public proclaimation of a deep transformation in your heart towards Jesus.
No longer indifferent. No longer resentful. No longer transactional.
You vow to live for Him for the rest of your life.
Simply put, you are ready for baptism the moment you are truly converted and born again. Here are the signs of true conversion.
1. You believe Jesus died on the cross because of your sins, and physically resurrected 3 days later
2. You have the heart posture of a sinner saved by grace
3. You are genuinely attracted to worship, prayer, scripture, and the gathering of saints
4. You rage war against your sinful flesh out of a deep love for God
Here are the steps to get baptized at CPF.
1. Pray and seek God for guidance and peace on this decision
2. Take the baptism class
3. Write your personal testimony
4. Apply through the link below
5. Schedule an interview with the pastor
6. Invite your family and friends to witness this special day!
Your testimony should have four components:
1. What was I like before Jesus?
2. When and how did God begin to open my eyes?
3. What did I see and understood?
4. How is my life different today because of Jesus?

Baptism is a special milestone for both you and the church, therefore we treat it accordingly. Before you become an official candidate for baptism, there is a 30 ~ 60 minute interview with the pastor and another mature Christian in the church.
Don't let the word "interview" scare you though! It is a conversation. It is not meant to judge you, neither is it a test on the Bible or theology. It is meant to help you and the church discern together whether baptism is truly the next step for you on the faith journey.
Therefore, you don't really need to prepare anything for this interview. Simply come with an open mind and a genuine heart.
We typically hold a special baptism service on a Sunday afternoon. However, under special circumstances, we may baptize during the Sunday morning service as well.
During the baptism service, you can expect a time to worship, a short message on the meaning of baptism, a time for testimony sharing, and the baptism itself.
Please note, by default, we baptize by full submersion. This means your entire body will go into the water before coming back out. If you are not comfortable with this for theological or health reasons, please speak with the pastor during the application process.
